Little actions matter the most to make our world a better and more sustainable place. The importance of planting trees and protecting them is not something that we can limit to a few words. From all ecological, environmental, and practical aspects, trees are undeniably needed for our survival.
The G17 University Ambassadors of the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, gave their contribution to the Tree for Life campaign conducted parallel to the SDG Week, joining hands with the United Nations and the G17 Global Fraternity. The ambassadors of the University of Colombo actively engaged in the campaign by planting trees individually at their homes. The ambassadors chose different varieties of plants that includes vegetables, fruits, and medicinal plants. Through this worthwhile action, the ambassadors did their part of the duty to make the world greener. Moreover, by sharing the tree-planting photos through social media platforms, the ambassadors could spread the message to a larger number of audience and encourage them to contribute.
Furthermore, a mini-campaign was conducted by the team at the university premises to plant trees and ensure that we advocate the message on a broader scale and act as dedicated and passionate G17 Ambassadors.
