Youth have the ability to steer the world in a positive direction. Their fresh perspectives and innovative ideas help us to observe the world from a wider angle, helping to solve global issues better and propose solutions in an effective manner.
For the Opinion Leaders campaign, the G17 Ambassadors of the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, spoke to the president of the Gavel Club of the University of Colombo, Ms. Naethree Premanath, and the President of the Rotaract Club of the School of Computing, University of Colombo, Ms. Lavinka Weerasekara.
As undergraduates and young leaders handling two major clubs within the University, both Lavinka and Naethree shared interesting thoughts regarding why they think youth should be more aware of the SDGs and they should contribute to them. Their thoughts and opinions encouraged the fellow students in the university to know more about Sustainable Development Goals, most importantly to contribute to them. The G17 University Ambassadors of the University of Colombo firmly believe that the voices of young leaders like these individuals have a lot of power to make the world a better place.
