Project Title: Towards Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Goal 8 � Decent Work and Economic Growth: Productive Employment and Decent Work for Fresh Graduates (Sharing Session & Workshop Collaboration Between University of Malaya, Malaysia, and Utsunomiya University, Japan) Host: University of Malaya, Malaysia Project Location: Faculty of Engineering, University of Malaya, Malaysia Collaboration With: Utsunomiya University, Japan Number of Participants: Approximately 40 (including students, lecturers, and speakers). Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Goal 8 � Decent Work and Economic Growth is one of the efforts initiated by The United Nations to achieve sustainable economic growth for all by 2030. Therefore, the project proposal is aligned with the targets in SDG Goal 8 which is to create increase the employment rate and create more decent work, especially for fresh graduates. The related targets in the SDG Goal 8 are as follows: i. SDG Goal 8.4 - Improve progressively, through 2030, global resource efficiency in consumption and production and endeavor to decouple economic growth from environmental degradation, in accordance with the 10-year framework of programs on sustainable consumption and production, with developed countries taking the lead. ii. SDG Goal 8.5 - By 2030, achieve full and productive employment and decent work for all women and men, including for young people and persons with disabilities, and equal pay for work of equal value. The project proposal will be the platform for the students of the University of Malaya, Malaysia, and Utsunomiya University, Japan to discuss the main obstacles to young people finding adequate employment and employability in responses to COVID-19, as well as offer recommendations, ideas, and proposals as a road map to support nations on their efforts. This workshop will be held physically at the University of Malaya on the 29th of August 2022 consisting of the students of Bachelor of Engineering & Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning from both universities. (University of Malaya, Malaysia and Utsunomiya University, Japan).

Collaborating, speaking up, and acting for productive employment and decent work for fresh graduates by seizing and generating opportunities to develop, plan, and carry out entrepreneurial ventures with a beneficial environmental and social impact. 3. Discuss the main obstacles to young people finding adequate employment and employability in responses to COVID-19, as well as offer recommendations, ideas, and proposals as a road map to support nations in their efforts. In order to guarantee that recent graduates have access to fundamental services and support for industrial objectives, it demands a significant increase in government assistance and political commitment. 4. Spreading knowledge and awareness about respectable employment and employability among young people, with a focus on fresh graduates.
