Gender inequality is one of the important goals to achieve by every nation to ensure the well-being of human regardless of gender. It aims to empower women through eliminating all forms of violence and discrimination against women and girls. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, climate emergency as well as the ongoing political tension around the globe, the progress on gender equality has not only failed to move forward but has begun to reverse due to a growing pushback against women's rights throughout the world. There is a need for the people to understand the current state of gender inequality and expose them to the existing gender-based issues such as sexual violence, female genital mutilation (FGM) and child marriage. Intensive research will be conducted to obtain authentic and valid information from reliable resources such as the World Bank, United Nations (UN),World Health Organisation (WHO), Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) and others. Information will be printed out in the form of brochures and it will be distributed to the students in University of Malaya.

The project for Sustainable Development Goal 5 aims to reduce the knowledge gap of university students about the importance of gender equality through distributing brochures that contain information about: 1. Gender Equality as SDG 5 2. Facts and Statistics about the Global Gender Equality 3. Period Poverty 4. Sexual Violence 5. The Current State of Gender Equality in Malaysia 6. Policies to Improve Gender Equality
